A Grounded Start to 2026
The start of a new year often comes with the best intentions.
And yet, barely days in, many of us already feel overwhelmed.
Emails piling up.
Social feeds and marketing messages shouting for attention.
Global events that are unsettling, even paralysing.
It’s a lot. It’s no wonder people feel depleted before the year has really begun.
So what can we do?
We start by focusing on what’s in front of us, the places where wedohave influence.
Ourselves. Our families. Our teams. Our workplaces.
Instead of asking“How do I fix everything?”, a better question is:
What is my bandwidth right now? What can I realistically manage well?
Real change doesn’t come from trying to eat the elephant. As James Clear’s brilliant “Atomic Habits” reminds us, progress is built through small, consistent actions that compound over time. One habit. One decision. One boundary. One conversation.
And importantly, you don’t have to do this alone.
Whether it’s peers, partners, coaches or your wider community, support matters. Sustainable change is far more likely when we stop carrying everything ourselves.
Interestingly, 2026 is the Year of the Horse, a symbol of energy, momentum and purpose. It’s a year that favours action and growth, but only when that drive is balanced with clarity, self-awareness and grounding. Passion without direction quickly becomes exhaustion.
At yuzu+co, we work with leaders and teams to create future-fit ways of working, grounded in human capacity, realistic bandwidth and meaningful progress. Not quick fixes. Not performative wellbeing. Just practical, sustainable change.
The time is right, not to do everything, but to do the right things, well.
